Running time: 4hrs local goods, 11hrs passenger services

The local goods

Your focus in this session will be to oversee the local goods service, under the control of Mr Bihar. You may take control at any time, but in this session, you will be limited to DCC control. If you do take control, ensure you do not delay other trains, otherwise you may find your railway grinds to a halt!

The session begins at Applesthwaite where Mr Bihar will drive light engine to Lowfell to shunt and collect the local goods train. Further orders will be presented once the shunt operation is complete.

When you finally arrive back at Lowfell, around 12:30pm, you may take a break, following which you can take out the loco for further unscheduled goods work. A rake of coal wagons lies in the sidings at Lowfell Quarry, and another at Sheriff Sutton Mine. A rake of lumber & log cars is also in the sidings at Lowfell Quarry. You may wish to check against the Waybill to work out which loads are priority. Of course the empties also need collecting from the morning local, and returning to Lowfell. There are no return loads today on this run.
