Timber Ridge Railroad
Deep in the Colorado Mountains, there stood the small town of Timber Ridge. For almost 100 years, both the Denver & Rio Grande Western and the Rio Grande Southern ran their passenger and freight trains into Timber Ridge and the other towns in the area, although the Colorado and Southern had subsidiary lines to run.
This area is a rich natural wonder, that inculded the Towns of Timber Ridge, Red Valley, and Montview. This place is a Scenic Wonder, that allowed the railroad to run tourist trains through the area, along side the regular passenger runs. There was a large mining area just South of Timber Ridge with Ore and Coal production. There was also a meat packing plant in Timber Ridge, and a large cattle ranch about 6 or so miles down the Track. There were also many other industries within the Route.
Today of all that was left of the Timber Ridge Railroad is the now-abandoned narrow gauge line from La Forge to Montview, dismantled since 1965 after the last train made its final run. Technology had caught up with the old narrow gauge system, and where once dual-gauge interchanged and exchanged with standard gauge trackage had finally operated standard gauge since dieselization had replaced steam by 1961.
