SIMPLE ROUTE DESCRIPTION
This route models both High Speed One and regular network trackage between Wembley Yards in west London all the way to Lille in France, along with certain branchlines. Two sections of HS1 are shared by fast and slow trains, because HS1 was originally designed to accept freight trains as well as fast movers. These occur at the HS1 crossing beneath the Thames River near Ebbsfleet and the Channel Tunnel that links France and Britain. Read the following section for more route detail.
This route has been 16 years in the making, and bits of it represent my first routebuilding efforts with Trainz2004. But it has evolved and grown continuously since. The British side was built with DEM terrain using the old Hand Of God program, but the French side has terrain undulation built by hand before I had access to HOG. It still looks fairly good as that part of France is quite flat anyway.
I rate this route at 95 percent prototypical because I added a handful of fairly big industries to generate traffic, and modified the trackage layout in Maidstone Kent to combine the lines through Strood and Lenham into one route to keep freight trains close to HS1.

Calais area south of the main station, including the branch down to Calais Bassin Ouest.
SNCF mainline from Calais, Nortquerke, Watten, St Omer, Hazebrouck, Bailleul, Armentieres and on to Lille. Also includes the branchline from Armentieres to the huge Roquette Freressa plant near Merville is included. This factory generates much rail traffic.
SNCF beltline around Lille in full, including a fully useable humpyard at LaDelivrance which closed in around 2007 in real life but lives on in this route. Lille Flandres station is also modelled in full.
Access to the eastern staging area at 5 points around Lille.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT HIGH SPEED LINES IN TRAINZ
When N3V developed the otherwise good cabin-sway feature, they apparantly forgot that some trains go faster than 60mph. Consequently, at 190mph this effect looks ridiculous. To fix this, copy the following four lines into the config.txt file for any traincar assets you might wish to us
