The most successful first generation road switcher owned by the CNJ, 13 of these were purchased in 1952 and many were still in use as late as at least 1972.
One of the more unusual modifications made by the CNJ was the squaring off of part of the nose on the long hood end to accomodate head-end coach light generators.
