Ship Dry Dock 2

A second ship dry dock designed to build or repair large ships. It operates as a transfer table, with operating gates, rising water level, night lighting, and a crane that moves with the dock operation, ready to work. This second dock is empty when placed.

Ships in Trainz generally operate on track in 7 metres of water, or track at 3 metres above water level, to allow ferries to load rollingstock from ground level. The dry dock has separate attachment points so either or both track levels can be used, and the dock height is adjustable.

A rail track for rollingstock is included on one dock wall, attach your track to the attachment point. The dock should be placed so the gates align with a grid line, so your water may be placed to finish at the gates.

Place the dock at a level to suit your proposed water levels, and adjust the level to suit the the water level in the dock (the dock water lowers about 9 metres). Operate the dock in Driver using the red turntable arrows. You may need to be in Driver roam model to easily click on the arrows.

You should use the get spline height tool to find the height of the track attachment points on the dock, join the track you wish the ships to run on, and set the attached track to the attachment point levels. The track placed with the dock is the Auran red invisible track. It will update to be the same as the track you attach to the dock.

Do not move the level of the ground near the operating arrows or the dock will change height.

Once installed you will find the model as Ship Dry Dock 2 in the Australia Scenery Trackside menu.
