NSW 90 Class Locomotive

NSW 90 Class Locomotive

The 90 class is the heaviest diesel locomotive in use on NSW railway. They are used exclusively to haul coal from Hunter Valley coal mines to the port at Newcastle. The locomotives have a single cab and narrow car body with a total weight of 165 tonnes. The diesel engine is a 4000 H.P. turbo charged fuel injected V16 cylinder 710G3A, rated at 2863 kW for traction.
