Multiplayer - Dig deep in the Pits 1.6
Welcome to the Pits. The coal pits that is. Written to be a TWO player session, this game now supports up to four players (2 two player teams, Perhaps?). The objective is to get all the materials needed to get our new Coal mine, located near Dawson Creek, British Columbia, up into operation. You need to work together as a team, it does not matter how many loads are taken by each of you. The mine doesn't care, it just wants its supplies as quickly as possible.
The pay is $3000 up front and $1000 for every load dropped off at the mines Receiving Docks A and B. For the 12 Boxcars, thats $15,000 so far. You can also make $350 extra on each trip if you do a quick mail drop off at either Outpost found along the Outer Supply Route. Thus, you could bring in a total of $19,200. The caveat is that the company hands out tickets for Illegal Backups along the following sections of the Route ($400 each). Lately, there have been many fatal accidents caused by Trains that were backing down the slippery, Hazardous sections of track found between each Supply dock and its Turntable. (These sections of track have rolling lift Bridges found along them). Also, the steep sections of track found near both entrances to Supply Route are too busy with pedestrian traffic and thus are dangerous to be backed down (these short sections are marked white). To ensure a safer workplace, the Company has decided to issue tickets to any drivers backing down any of these 4 sections of Track. Once you know your way around, I am sure you will not see very many tickets.
To Start, you both are at a different Receiving Dock (A or B) near the mining pits. Each Dock is fed by a different track, noted for their Red & Yellow Signal lights found all along each track Route. It is highly recommended that you coordinate the trains so that one train uses the Red tracks and the other uses Yellow. That being said, First, you need to Back up onto the main track, then start Forward down it. Be looking out for the Junction point that takes you out onto the Supply Tracks. When you reach a Traffic light, Stop and click to open a up Junction ahead and wait until you get a Green Light/Yellow Light. When you first come onto the supply route, dont forget to close the junction behind you, since these junctions are not controlled (It could be potentially very perilous to forget to do this). Now, you will be going along the Supply Route until you pass through a Turntable & Lift Bridge. Right beside each Turntable is a Supply Yard. These are designed to be backed into from a different direction of travel along the Supply Route. So, Back your Engine into yard to pick up one Freight car at a time. This is important later, since you can't turn in a Turntable with more than one Boxcar with you.
Ok, sounds easy enough so far. Now, you take your freight straight out along the Supply Route and go around or through one of the turntables/Lift Bridges and continue on. At the next Turntable you will need to stop in the center (with your freight car attached) and Spin it around. You now should be facing the Junction that takes the Route Back to the mines entrance that you had started your Journey from. You will find that you are heading the opposite way along the track to the Receiving Dock. Head out this way, just watch the lights and Junctions along the way. You are pointed in the right direction to be able to Backup into the Dock. Both Receiving Docks are to get 2 Boxcars on each of the 3 tracks. No questions on how it gets done as long as it is done Safely!
Note: Exercise CAUTION when nearing the INNER Supply Route tracks (which lead to both of the turntables and both Shipping Docks). Although a bit of a longer course, when using the OUTER Supply Route you can bypass the sections of track that lead to them. Keep in mind that the Supply track can be a fairly high speed traffic Route!! Make sure you get to know your Map.
Caution: Some sections of track may be washed out due to the heavy rains found along the Pacific Coastal Mountains of British Columbia. The company wishes to assure
