YVRR No. 23 - As Retired
1907 ALCo. American Standard. Identical to sister 22 as built, by this time she had been fitted with a SP-style steel cab and twin air compressors. She was the primary engine on winter passenger trains, and worked alongside sister 22 as a Merced switcher and local engine in the summer. 23 hauled the last freight load on YVRR metals, and served for two years on the Modesto-Empire Traction Company after retirement.
