WVRR No. 53

Baldwin 2-8-0s built February 1905 for the Tonopah and Goldfield Railroads. 55-inch drivers, driver wheelbase 14 feet 8 inches, total wheelbase 23 feet 5 inches. They were 'Common Standard' designs. During the merger, Goldfield 2 became WVRR 50, and Tonopah 7-9 became WVRR 51-53. All four were still in service through the 1930s, but after years of bankruptcy, the WVRR retired 51 and 53 in 1940, and set them aside for spare parts. 50 and 52 remained in service until the road's closure in 1948.
