YSC 1a SteamingBoxCars

This session is for YardSwitchingCo 1a. You will use a small steam locomotive to move box cars. All the items of rolling stock needed by the session will be downloaded from the Download Station when the session is installed, apart from the little BO 0-4-0 switcher. This can be Downloaded from:

Scroll down to Docksider, and then download and install the file.

Chuck and Joe, we need you to move box cars around the yard. You can do this in any sequence you like, but keep the Dispatcher informed of your movements.

Take the tuscan colored 40ft Burlington box cars to Andersons for loading with bagged flour. The glacier green GN cars go to Hymill-Write for loading with auto jacks, and the pale yellow UP boxes in the Transfer Yard go to Private Parts for loading with dofours. Return the loaded box cars to the Transfer Yard and form them into one consist.

Note that the box cars will not load in the simulation.

Coal for your locomotive is available at the Loco Depot; water is available from all stand pipes. Remember to dump the accumulated ash from the ash pan at the ash pit and top up with coal and water before departing Loco.

You will find that our Class 1 Railroad partner is running a very intensive schedule. You should expect to see their Big Boyz thundering past every two minutes or so. Be very careful where we share their tracks on either side of the main station.

Maps and a readme will be found in the folder containing the session. The readme contains detailed information about the correct driving technique for this steam locomotive.
