Well, Chuck and Joe, some of the old timers who work this railroad have never seen it rain here. This is your first week and it is raining. In a couple of days the desert flowers will be blooming – a very beautiful sight.
The mines are going to replace the main hoist cables and the log camp replace the cables on the spars, so you will need to take reels of cable to both mines and to the log camp.
You will find them on the hi-capacity cars on the barge. The two Callender Cable reels are for unloading at the log camp freight house. And one reel of the red high strength cable to unload at each mine workshop.
Once you have done this you could call yourselves Reel Oldphartz.
The mines also need a resupply of blasting powder and the log camp needs equipment.
You will find four depressed centers parked at the Oldphartz workshop. Load the two on the left track with ROF Gunpowder at the Steamship Wharf and the two on the right with WS Ladegut (Produkt) at the Dockside Depot. Deliver the cars to the mines and log camp and unload them.
Spot the empty cars where you found them.
I have given you the choice of the Whitcomb or the Mallet. I would suggest the Mallet because it performs better.
Try to keep dry.
