Session 2 – The Classic 4-4-0

In this session you drive an outside valve gear Baldwin with the classic North American 4-4-0 wheel arrangement.

Good morning Chuck, Joe. Rain today. You will have to get used to it. It happens here frequently.
I have given you our Baldwin 4-4-0. It steams well. Rides the track extremely well too. It is waiting for you over in the yard.
You can do this either as two runs or as one combined run.
On the barge are three box cars with resupplies, two flat cars with log equipment and one tank car of diesel.
Deliver one box car to each log camp and the mine, one flat car to each log camp and the tank car to the mine. The Yard Master at each will tell you where to spot and leave them for unloading.
In the yard you will find a rake of log cars, two each of blue, brown and green. The blues take 40ft logstack, the browns 32ft logstack and the greens 16ft logstack.
Load one blue, one brown and one green at each log camp.
Back at Laramee:
Spot the browns at the Steamship Wharf.
Spot the greens on the barge.
Unload the blues at the Saw Mill, reload them with lumber and spot them on the barge.
