TRS19 - The Mann, Phrom, Laramee RR - Model Trainz Layout

Trainz TRS19 model railroad - The Mann, Phrom, Laramee Railroad. The original of this layout was for T:ANE. This version is for TRS19, with the new TRS19 track, three dimensional PBR textures and TurfFX grasses.

The Mann, Phrom, Laramee RR is a standard-gauge model railroad layout. All the dependencies for the layout are either built-in or on the Download Station. Use Manage Content to make sure all dependencies have been captured.

The layout can be operated in two ways. Either as a challenging route for Class 1 railroad big power steam, diesel or turbine locomotives hauling long consists. Or as a short line transporting logs, ores and other commodities.

The layout occupies three baseboards but has numerous loops and spirals, making the track length considerably longer than the baseboard length. Maximum grades are about four per cent. Trestles and bridges abound.

As a short line the railroad links the mine and log camp at Mann and the log camp at Phrom with the main town of Laramee.

Laramee has a roundhouse with a 120ft turntable, a workshop, a saw mill, a steamship wharf, a rotary ore tippler, stock holding yards, and a railroad ferry barge that links the town to the outside world. The layout also includes a log dump and a stock yard.

Traffic flows include
Ore from the mine to the rotary ore tippler and to the ferry.
Logs from the logging camps to the log dump, saw mill and ferry.
Lumber from the saw mill to the ferry.
Livestock from the stock yards to the holding yard and bales of hay to the stock yards.
Plant, equipment and supplies from the ferry and steamship wharf to the mine and logging camps.
Diesel from the ferry as fuel to power the mine.

There are also youtube videos. One shows the layout. Others show how to use the rotary dumper and how to use a fiddle (staging) yard. On the Laramee Railroad, the fiddle yard is the ferry barge. Search youtube with philskene as the author.

Known issue. The turntable. Occassionally in a session tracks may become disconnected from the turntable and locomotives may then become derailed. See my thread in the Forums about working around this issue.
