TRS19 - The Shortz & Kerl - Session 1 - Gondola Shuffle

This session is for TRS19 - The Shortz & Kerl Traction Railroad.

Information about the layout and this session can be found in the N3V Trainz Forums Payware Forum. Search for Short & Kerl.

All content is either built-in or from the Download Station. Use Manage Content to make sure all the dependencies have been captured.

In this session you have to undertake the roles of Locomotive Crew (drive the locomotive), Switchman (set the switches and couple and uncouple freight cars), Yard Master (direct the Crew to the correct location for loading and unloading) and Load Master (load and unload freight cars).

Industries are indicated by Interactive Industries with the prefix IND. To see these in Driver
Press the M-key to bring up the Map View.
You can zoom using the mouse wheel or PageUp/Down.
You can re-centre the map with mouse right click, or pan with Ctrl-cursor keys.
To see the Industries, menu top left, ticks against Industry Names and, to see the location of the AI trainz, Consists.
Other ticks are optional but may clutter the screen.
Press M to exit Map View.
If necessary, press the 2-key to take you back to the locomotive external view.

The gondolas may or may not load or unload when spotted between the yellow markers. If they do not, use the manual method described in my Post in the Payware Forum. Move the mouse to the top left of the screen / Tools menu / Edit Trains. In the Rolling Stock fly-out, click on the Question Mark then on the freight car. Set the commodity values. There is a youtube video showing this process. Search youtube with 'Trainz TRS19 - Edit Trains in Driver'.

The End key in the Numeric Keypad will toggle the pantograph of an electric locomotive up / down.

Over in the yard are three gondolas. Use them for the following tasks --
Supplying steel coil to Tubemakers.
Cement to Boots Concrete.
Concrete pipes to the Dockside.
The Yard Master at each location will tell you how many gondolas to load and their destinations.
When completed, return the empty gondolas to the yard and sign off in the Depot.

Other trainz will be circulating around the layout. At crossing loops these trains will always take the right track. You should give them priority and time your moves from one yard to the next so as to not impeded the AI trains.

It may be necessary to reset switches to help the AI trains on their way if you have changed the setting of switches for you own purposes.
