Southwest Pennsylvania Railroad

'The Southwest Pennsylvania Railroad' is a terrain generated map of the The Southwest Pennsylvania Railroad, a class 3 railroad servicing former Norfolk Southern, CSX rails, and numerous freight facilities in the greater Greensburg/Connellsville/Uniontown PA areas. In addition, the SWP RR also interchanges with the Wheeling & Lake Erie railroad In Connellsville. The SWP started operations in 1995 and operates 66 miles of track, running from Greensburg, PA. through towns such as Youngwood, Scottdale, Connellsville, and Uniontown to its southern terminus at Smithfield.

On the map you will find the SWP RR right of way textured in red, and trackage rights textured in blue. There are no 'Tiger Lines' shown, but small signs, indicating the location of towns, have been placed along the tracks so that conditions in those areas, (Multiple track, yards, roads ,waterways, etc.) can be accessed using Google Maps. Since the SWP RR is currently running everyday operations, Google Maps will give you a much more accurate discription of the route. The map has 66 miles of track, 942 baseboards, and covers 188 sq miles. A TrainzMap of the route is available in the content folder. Open the file in Contant Manager, click on 'Edit in Explorer', and look for the SWP Rail Map.jpg'
