Bombardier-DHC Dash 8-400 Fireguard Securite Civile 74 Startup

A Bombardier-De Havilland Canada Dash 8-Q400-MR Fireguard aircraft, french Securite Civile, N°73. Used as a transport aircraft and fire water bomber with additional belly tank. Reskin by Papou with permission.

It operates on invisible track and will load passengers at a suitable landing area.

The aircraft has an automatically operating landing gear. This retracts at takeoff speed set in the script. It lowers at speeds below this value. Flaps operate automatically, speed set in string table above. The speeds for tilting, landing gear retraction, and flap operation may be altered in the string table above - speeds are in kph.

The belly water tank may be used on the aircraft, using the water-tank 1 tag in the string table above (enclose the 1 in quotes). This shows the tank on the aircraft and allows the release of red water spray using the H key. To hide the tank use the tag water-tank 0 . This also suppresses the release of water spray.

Remarques importantes Francais: Le réservoir ventral peut etre installe en mettant la valeur du tag tank dans le conteneur string table ci dessus a 1 (1 entre guillemets)- Cela installe le reservoir et permet le largage de l'eau. Pour enlever le reservoir, mettre le tag tank a 0. Cela remet les ailettes ventrales et supprime le largage d'eau.Prévoir une vitesse de décollage/aterrissage vers 180 km/h et une vitesse pour largage de l'eau vers 230 km/h. Plus l'appareil sera bas, plus l'effet de masse d'eau sera important.

It does not have an operating interior, but does have various exterior views based on an invisible interior, use the [ and ] keys from the interior view.

The aircraft has a number of animations that can be operated by keyboard keys, or the Aircraft Action Trigger, kuid:76656:24050, when placed on track and set to the correct number:

- to start engines, press the B key or use trigger setting 2. An engine start rule is also available for AI.
- issue smoke and sound from the tyres when landing, use trigger setting 4.
- to flare the aircraft for landing, trigger setting 7 or V key.
- come to a gradual stop on landing, trigger setting 9.
- set speed to 40% of maximum speed, for landing approach, trigger setting 14.

Note: Shadow models are required but cannot be animated to follow aircraft animation. If you do not like the shadow showing on the body of the aircraft, in the config call up the shadow_inv.im file which is an invisible shadow.
