English Electric 2da Serie 5778 Ferrocarriles Argentinos

Un total de 21 de estas locomotoras de 72 ton de calibre medidor, impulsado por un motor de cuatro tiempos de 8 cilindros en línea de 1.000 CV, fueron construidos por la planta de Vulcan de English Electric. Los primeros cinco fueron numerados DE 31 a 35 por el Ferrocarril de la Provincia de Buenos Aires y más tarde se conocieron colectivamente como Clase DE 623 cuando la propiedad de las locomotoras fue transferida al Ferrocarril General Belgrano.
