Amtrak EMD SDP40F 564 Phase I

Amtrak's SDP40F diesel locomotive, built in 1973 through 1974, 150 units were built. Their purpose was to take over long distance trains, and were fitted with steam generators for heating. Due to a series of derailments however, they were pulled from active service with the arrival of the EMD F40PH, and the replacement of the steam heated cars with modern all electric Amfleets and Superliners. All but one (644) have been scrapped, athough 2 modified test bed locomotives exist in Pueblo, Colorado.

This locomotive has been a community effort for Trainz. A special Thanks goes out to Perrock for the textures, Railrunner154 for the engine spec and hornsound, Bdneal for fixing the engine spec, Santafebuff, Simulatortrain, and NIARTcar for weathering the locomotive, and Yukonzoom for animating the fans.
