JBR/GSR/VR-SAR Overland BJ

The Overland BJ Second-Class sitting car.
In between 1952 and 1968, 10 BJ Second-Class sitting cars were made for The Overland service. The first four were built in 1952, with two in 1960, two more in 1966, and the last two built in 1968, eventually forming a class of 10 BJ cars (BJ1 - BJ10)
In 1971, BJ cars BJ1-BJ3 were rebuilt as RBJ buffet/dining cars. All BJs and RBJs were converted to standard gauge in 1995 with the rest of The Overland carriages, and they were included in the transfer of Australian National's passenger assets to Great Southern Rail in 1997.
In 2007, RBJ3, and the rest of the original BJs (BJ4 - BJ10) were refurbished for the new Overland daylight service, while RBJ1 and RBJ2 were stored and eventually sold to GWA in 2010, being converted to crew cars.
