ECML Kings Cross-Edinburgh - Real Flying Scotsman
In 1862 the 'Special Scotch Express' was born of an agreement between the North British Railway, the North Eastern Railway and the Great Northern Railway to operate a daily through service in each direction between London King's Cross and Edinburgh Waverly; providing a convenient link between the capital cities of England and Scotland.
Following the Railways Act of 1921 which saw the three companies absorbed into the London North Eastern Railway, the service adopted the name by which it had been unofficially known since the 1870's, 'the Flying Scotsman' and would become one of the world's most famous trains.
You are in charge of a Class 55 'Deltic' at the head of the Flying Scotsman, ready to depart King's Cross. This is an express service stopping only at Newcastle and your destination at Edinburgh.
