RS3 - New Haven 535

This is one of the 4 paint schemes used on New Haven RS3s. New Haven placed 3 orders for RS3s: 20 in 1950 (517-536), 10 in 1951 (537-546), and 15 in 1952 (547-561). They were painted in one of the two Orange & Green styles. In 1956, RS3s rebuilt by the New Haven were repainted all black with red cabs. In 1961, when Alco rebuilt 13 of them, they were painted with red hoods (517, 518, 520, 523, 527, 528, 533, 534, 538, 547, 551, 558 and 559). Three others were repainted this way but not rebuilt (526, 543, and 553).
