Norfolk & Western in the 1950s

Norfolk & Western in the 1950s is a four baseboard layout recreating scenes from the Norfolk & Western Railway and the photography of O. Winston Link. It includes the bustling city of Norfolk and the bascule bridges that connect it, the busy coal yard of Lambert's Point, the famous Iaeger movie theatre (as seen in the thumbnail), and the Abingdon Branch. This is suited for operating everything from mainline passenger trains, heavy coal drags, road switching, and even the Virginia Creeper working the Abingdon Branch.

This is based on a real layout and track plan by Gary Hoover as published in the April 2020 Model Railroader. I cannot thank Gary enough for sharing dozens of well-labeled photos and answering countless questions of mine.
