Erie Northern 2012 v5.18
Erie Northern Route for TS2012 Released May 2016 and assembled with TS12 build 61388/v3.7.
Erie Northern is a fictional short line railroad based somewhere in Northeastern USA. Nearly 40 miles of double track mainline are in operation and the route offers plenty of opportunities, both for those who just like to run trains and also for those who like to create their own sessions. Experienced session designers will find plenty of challenge, with 35 interactive industries and ten passenger stations to choose from. For engineers, several long stretches of mainline let you run at full legal speed.
Erie Northern now spans over 140 baseboards, and users of the TRS2006 version will find the TS12 version to be dramatically different, with upgraded track, speed trees and many new features. New for TS12 are ships, helicopters and the extensive use of the Path command to streamline traffic at choke points. Within each session, the four programmable turntables can be controlled with driver commands.
Please note that EN 2012 requires a specific session to be loaded with the map. This is because many of the functions, such as the speed controls through turnouts, are session-based. If you load the map without a session, many preset functions will revert to their defaults (off). Three sessions are available. The 'base session', has all the controls set up correctly but with no rolling stock. Use this session as a template for your own sessions. 'Route Demo' has more than 20 trains operating and shows the operation of many of the route's feature. 'Rainy Night' is single-driver session for either manual or AI control.
To obtain other Erie Northern content, including sessions and new TS12 rolling stock, search for 'Erie Northern 2012' or my user ID, which is crb001. History: This route was originally created by David Fiore in 2002 as Erie Limited, using a early version of Trainz. In 2008, I thought of upgrading it to TS2006 and it became Erie Northern, posted with Dave's permission. Work began on the TS12 version in late 2011.
