Welcome to Monday morning. It's 0700, the weather is lousy and the dispatcher is in a foul mood. Report to the Westfield yard, where you'll be driving Amtrak 73, a General Electric Genesis locomotive. Mount up and head east, making station stops at Westfield, Caldwell, Garfield, Huntersville and East Shelton before exiting the route through the northbound BNSF portal. Traffic looks to be especially heavy this morning, so expect delays. Make a pit stop before you head out and be sure the coffee in your thermos is plenty hot. It's going to be a long day.
