This is an oil-burning, two-truck, Narrow Gauge (36-inch) Heisler steam locomotive.
class: 35-8-33 (35 tons, 8 drive wheels, drive wheels have 33' diameter.)
this model is based on various Heisler locomotive photos from the 'www.trainweb.org/gearedsteam/heisler' web site. The model was not
based on one individual prototype locomotive. Rather, it was modeled from features found on several different prototypes. Many thanks to Gary Hoorn for creating the Heisler sound files! Thanks to Peter Mathews and to Michael Sutton for the excellent advice resulting from test runs. Thanks also to Mike Sutton for hosting this model on the www.trainzone.co.nz web site!
