This model is based on the first batch of 29 bogie aggregate hoppers built for Bardon Quarries in 1987. These operated from Bardon Hill (near Coalville) to terminals in London and the South East. During the 1990s these were repainted from the original green-based livery to an off-white colour, initially with blue bogies and underframes as seen on this model.
