BR BTA Pipe Wagon (8 stanchions)

30 of these wagons were rebuilt from BDA Bogie Bolsters by EWS at Thornaby in 1998. To allow the loading of large diameter pipes (for use in the oil and gas industry) the wagon sides were cut down and large stanchions fitted. The wagons were used between pipe mills in North East England and terminals in the North of Scotland. There was some variety in the fleet and this model represents a disc-braked wagon with 8 stanchions. The model features Couplestar and LOD, and can be loaded either with pipe products or my single wagonload products that include the restraining straps.
