43002 'Sir Kenneth Grange'

The first production HST Power Cars into traffic, 43002 was delivered into service on 18 February 1976. Operational life was extended by Brush Traction when MTU power units were installed between 4 January 2008 and 6 March 2008.

To celebrate 40 years of the HST, power car #43002 was painted into British Rail blue and named 'Sir Kenneth Grange' at St Philips Marsh Open Day 2016

On 18 May 2019, the Great Western Railway ran their last HST services out of London Paddington, the 18:30 London Paddington to Exeter St. Davids. 43002 'Sir Kenneth Grange' in Inter City Blue Grey leading, paired with 43198 'Driver Brian Cooper' in GWR Green Livery.
