UP Big Boy Weathered #4014 V2

The Union Pacific 4000 Class 4-8-8-4, nicknamed 'Big Boy' is considered the largest successful steam locomotive ever built. The Big Boy weighed in at 345 tons and put a load of 245 tons on the 68 inch drivers. Although primarily built for pulling heavy loads, the Big Boy could handle speeds of up to 80 mph. However, most power was found in the 30 mph region. One engine, #4014, was tested and an impressive stat of 6290 horsepower was shown. Union Pacific #4014 was recently purchased by the Union Pacific and is to be restored.
The #4014 Big Boy now sits at the Museum of Transportation in St.Louis, Missouri.
