UP 4-4-2 12 Classic

Classic series: Error-free in TRS19, converted to Trainzmesh, but not significantly upgraded from original 2006 release.

A Harriman Standard 4-4-2, painted as Union Pacific #12. The Atlantic wheel arrangement (4-4-2) generally had very large drivers, which allowed for high top speeds, but very little tractive effort. When the 4-4-2s were introduced, they had no problem handling expresses in flat areas. As time went on, the cars got heavier, and the trains got longer. The Atlantics didn't have enough tractive effort to pull the heavy expresses, so they were replaced with 4-6-2s and 4-8-2s. Most roads retired their Atlantics by the mid 1930s.
