S&A 750 Class Tender

Tender for Savannah & Atlanta 750 class 4-6-2. The first two orders of Florida East Coast 4-6-2s sported these relatively small tenders. The initial orders were designed to carry 10 tons of coal and 6,000 gallons of water. When the second order started arriving in 1911, the tenders were modified to carry 3,500 gallons of oil in lieu of the coal. The final order of 4-6-2s were shipped with a slightly stretched version with a 7,300-gallon water cistern. When sold on the second-hand market, the tenders were typically converted back to coal. This model is painted in the original S&A lettering style used on the 750 class from introduction in 1936 until the early 1940s.
