BNSF Lafayette Subdivision (Avondale-Roanoke)

The Lafayette Subdivision runs on the former Southern Pacific Sunset Route between Avondale and Iowa Junction in Louisiana. The route is shared by BNSF, Union Pacific, Louisiana & Delta, and the Amtrak Sunset Limited. The L&D operates several branches to Lockport, Cypremort, Abbeville, and Breaux Bridge. There are Amtrak stations in Schriver, New Iberia, and Lafayette. This route covers the entire 205 miles in addition to several branches.
