Erie Northern Route, released August 23rd 2009.

Erie Northern is a fictional short line railroad based somewhere in Northeastern USA. Nearly 40 miles of mostly double track mainline are in operation, and the route offers plenty of opportunities, both for those who just like to run trains and also for those who like to create their own sessions. Experienced session designers will find plenty of challenge, with 35 interactive industries and ten passenger stations to choose from. For engineers, several long stretches of mainline let you run at full legal speed.

Of particular interest to session builders are the three fully programmable turntables, which can be operated within the session using the new 'move turntable' command. Be sure to check out the session called 'Erie Northern Demo' for working examples of how to program them in your sessions. When you're ready to build your scenario, load the 'Base Session' template along with the map, otherwise the speed controls for turnouts will not work correctly.

Erie Northern now spans over 100 baseboards, and this hopefully final release has bug fixes and a large number of small enhancements, including several new industries and tracking cameras along the all mainline trackage.

History: This route was originally built by David Fiore in 2002 as Erie Limited, using a early version of Trainz. When I got my first copy of Trainz in 2005, it was the first route I downloaded. I spent many enjoyable hours learning to use Surveyor with Erie Limited. In late 2008, I thought of upgrading the route to a more modern version of Trainz and it became Erie Northern, posted here with Dave's permission.
